Overview
I participated in an event for students from different IT-related educational programmes called Hackathon. The main topic was how one can use Big data to help a company gain insights about how their brand is viewed across different online forum. In this project I worked in a group with three other people that I met at the event.
The idea and solution for our project, was a way to get information on the general stigma of a brand. In our case we used Nike as an example, and created an Azure Logic App, that extracts information from Instagram Polls with questions on Instagram stories. This would be through influencers on the platform. This is possible, as Instagram has a feature called Instagram Business, that collects data from stories. The Azure Logic App obtains the information through a blob storage, then it pushes the information through Azure Text Analysis which uses Azure Cognitive Services(AI), it then extracts the Sentiment scores which can be: Positive, Negative, Neutral and Mixed.
In full function this would be a workflow where information is extracted from Instagram, then sent through Azure Text Analysis, and then sent to the platform we created where GroupM would be able to see an overview of the results and hereby be able to conclude what the general stigma is on the brand at hand. We learned a lot about Azure and the ways it can be used as an effective tool. We were able to learn about some of the pros and cons Azure has as well.
